Ian Amdur (Executive Director)

Ian studied as an Opera singer in London, New York and Milan. He joined his Family Hotel business in the mid 1980’s and was responsible for development of the hotels as well as other real estate assets.

In 1997 Ian joined forces with Gary Silver and founded Dorchester which focused initially on investment in to Urban Regeneration of the East End of London. This was later expanded countywide, by 2000 Ian looked to expand Dorchester overseas initiating business in Cuba, Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Ian is at the forefront of Dorchesters business development seeking opportunity and investment in the UK and International markets. [Back to Top]

Dr Gary Silver (Executive Director)

Gary trained as a doctor of medicine at Royal London hospital .He set up a residential property fund to invest in East London in 1991, which was focused on Urban Regeneration in East London and in the provision of low cost housing to key workers in the area. Founder of Dorchester with Ian Amdur in 1997.

An Awareness to source and identify profitable investment opportunities helped establish and grow Dorchester’s property interests in the UK. Gary is responsible for setting up Dorchester’s overseas operation in 2003. Expansion to date has been specifically targeted to Eastern and Central European markets with a specific focus on Slovakia and Czech Republic. Transactions vary from 1400 unit residential development in the centre of Bratislava to 400m euro winter and summer resort project in Eastern Slovakia. [Back to Top]

Paul Silver (Executive Director)

Paul is a chartered accountant and his previous experience includes working at Ernst and Young advising corporate on their business risk strategies and Deutsche Bank as a corporate financier advising on large mergers and acquisitions within their industrial team. In 1999 he was headhunted by Citigroup to work within their no 1 ranked Infrastructure and Building services team where he advised on many of the largest UK house building acquisitions in the UK.

In 2003 he joined Dorchester and has successfully sourced many of the large development schemes and housebuilder joint ventures the group entered into. Paul currently runs Dorchester Residential, our UK focused housebuilder as well as commercial investments made by the group. [Back to Top]

Simon Gilbert (Operations Director)

Simon is responsible for all aspects of Sales and Marketing for the Dorchester Group, he has a wealth of experience across a variety of business sectors and is able to create Joint Venture and Investor opportunities from his wealth of contacts within the Industry. Educated at Clifton College in Bristol, Simon started his career in Retail at Paul Simon London LTD which grew to one of the biggest soft furnishing retail chains in the UK. Here he accumulated a wealth of experience over 10 years from store management, company marketing, global purchasing to P & L management and the oversight of a national expansion programme.

Since this time Simon has had a number of Directorship roles within the Telecoms and Property Industries.

Simon has worked with Dorchester on a consultancy basis for over two years and joined the management team at the beginning of 2006. [Back to Top]

David Goldring (Financial Director)

Qualified chartered accountant with over 25 years experience in housebuilding with last 15 years at CALA Homes where he was Regional Finance Director and Company Secretary of CALA Homes South. During his time at CALA, David oversaw projects ranging from the build of high end luxury houses to large flatted schemes and at Dorchester David is responsible for management accounting, financial control and budgeting. Mike Samson (Group Construction Director)

During a career spanning 35 years in both the Residential & Commercial property sectors, Mike has held senior positions with several major PLC’s. Having Joined Taylor Woodrow in 1973, he served on the Board of Taylor Woodrow Homes from 1986-1992, as Commercial Director, before setting up his own Development Company which traded successfully in the 1990’s. After joining Berkeley Homes in 1997 as a Senior Project Manager he moved to Columbia Group, one of London’s largest privately owned Property Development Companies, serving for eight years as Chief Quantity Surveyor and helping establish the Group as a major player in the metropolis. Mike has recently joined Dorchester with specific responsibility for their Commercial and Construction activities. [Back to Top]

Rakesh Paw (Group Financial Controller)

Rakesh is a qualified chartered accountant and his previous experience includes working at RSM Robson Rhodes as an audit senior and BDO Stoy Hayward as a corporate financier within the due diligence team. His experience includes advising corporates and private equity firms on acquisitions. At Dorchester, Rakesh overseas output from our accounting and finance department and is responsible for reporting performance both to the management team and our third party investors. [Back to Top]

Slovakia Management Team

Erik Mikurcik (Business Development)

Erik qualified from the Commenius University, Faculty of Management, Bratislava in Economics in 2000 before taking a post graduate MBA in business management. In his business career to date he has worked amongst others at Orange Slovakia where he has occupied positions as both senior sales executive and account management, and Managing Director of Proximity Slovakia s.r.o (a member of the BBDO world wide marketing Group). In 2003 Erik set up Arthur Real Estate s.r.o of which he is one of the owners. Arthur Real Estate offers complex services connected with mediation of sales, purchase and rental of apartments, family homes, office, commercial, production and storage facilities, pieces of land and recreational facilities. Erik has been working with Dorchester over the past year. His roles include winning new business for the company as well as providing general marketing strategy. [Back to Top]

Eva Svanova (Project Manager)

Eva qualified from Bratislava University in Business Management before embarking on her career which has gained a broad range of experience from financial services to real estate. Previous to joining Dorchester in 2006 she worked as an assistant manager at Madacom Ltd (Alcatel) in the department of leisure facilities development. Her roles included; Directing and implementing the department’s European funding and implementation strategy. Management of relations with European Union structured investment agencies, Project management of the successful implementation of a wide range of effective business systems solutions. Management of external consultants including architects, construction consultants, civil engineers etc. Periodic reporting and presentation of analysis and recommendations to Board level. Her property experience includes a senior project management role in a high profile golf and leisure development project in Eastern Slovakia. Since joining Dorchester
Eva has occupied a senior project management role in the Spissky Raj Summer and Winter Leisure Resort project. Her role has included coordination between the various real estate consultants involved in this substantial and ambitious project as well as her fiduciary duties as legal representative of Romulus s.r.o which is the company that is developing the project.
